uro Asian Imports was founded by Bob Hansing in 1973. Bob's original intention was to import the finest European and Japanese components to the US. In the last few years, the company has begun to manufacture and export its own components. We're proud to have been selected as EAI's first UK dealer.

EAI's Bareknuckle is a no-logo steel track/training frame, pure and simple. Click the stickers at left to learn more about geometry, tubing, construction and so on and to view a photo gallery, hot from the woodshed round the back of Castle Hubjub. There are links to some Bareknuckles on the FG Gallery, as well. Supply problems have dogged our attempts to stock the Bareknuckle, and since mid-2007 we've been offering it basically as a custom order item -- that is, if you want one, you mail us and we contact you when frames are available. Delivery times are better than they used to be but still on the slow side.

EAI's SuperStar is a new entry in the arms race at the top end of the cog market. It may just be the best of the bunch. It is certainly the most brightly polished stainless steel component we've ever seen. The complex profiling reflects EAI's decades of track experience, and every one comes in its own neat fabric wallet. Thinning out.

EAI 1/8 steel sprockets are among our biggest sellers. There's no magic: these are simply very tough, very well-machined steel sprockets from a maker famous for its commitment to quality. We don't know of a conventional sprocket that gives better durability. We now stock all sizes 13 to 20t, and larger sizes up to 22t are available on custom order. Most cogs now ship in the new, smooth finish, like that of the larger 3/32 cog shown below, but EAI still supply some sizes in the older style. Thinning out.

All the good thoughts above apply also to EAI 3/32 steel sprockets, although -- like most track sprockets -- they won't fit 9 and 10spd chains. EAI mostly supplies cogs in the new smooth design, like that of the larger sprocket shown at left, but the company still sends us some sizes in the older 'concentric grooves' finish. Thinning out.

If you're unsure whether to buy your EAI 1/8 cogs in alloy or steel, the answer is probably steel. Alloy cogs are much less durable than steel, even high-quality heat-treated ones like these. But, if you are desperate to shave a few grammes, you should know that EuroAsia alloy cogs come in about 35% of the weight of their steel equivalents. They seem to last pretty well, too. Several sizes in the stock 16-20t range are often available in silver as well as the default gloss black and of course we can do custom orders for large or small sprockets: drop us a note for details. Thinning out.

EAI 3/32 alloy sprockets are the lightest made by that manufacturer. We hold full stock of EAI alloy 3/32s, and many sizes are available in black or the newer silver. Drop us a note if you want to specify a colour. Thinning out.

EAI single chainring bolts are what you need to install a 1/8" or 3/32" single chainring on a double or triple crank -- or a track chainset, come to that. These aren't in any way exciting, being made decently enough in nickel steel, with an allen bolt fitting one side and a slot the other. It is still stupidly hard to find single chainring bolts in the UK, and these do the job pretty well. We sell tons.

|
EuroAsia lockrings will fit most Campagnolo hubs and compatibles, but they're a good bit cheaper than the Campy versions. We can get le vrai Campagnolo on custom order, but we can't get the EAI version for a few weeks.
